How Can I Start Learning Programming After Delaying My Dream?

Hey everyone, I've always wanted to be a programmer, but life's challenges have held me back. Growing up in a children's home and dealing with financial issues delayed my dream until I finally bought a computer just a year ago. Right now, I work as a plumber, which pays well, but my heart is still set on programming. I'd love to hear any advice on where to start and how I can make this dream a reality!

Ignore the fear-mongering about AI taking over programmer jobs; it's just corporate talk. Programming is about teaching a computer to automate tasks, and there will always be a need for this. Start with simple projects that matter to you, like automating little tasks in your life. Just remember, Google will be your best friend in this journey!

While I see your point, I think AI will change how entry-level jobs look in the future. It might automate some tasks, making those initial jobs less common. Still, I get what you mean—it's all about adapting!

First things first, figure out what area of programming interests you! There are tons of resources available, especially YouTube tutorials. Once you get the basics down, consider doing some freelance work on platforms like Fiverr or Upwork to build your portfolio. Who knows, you might even transition to coding full-time!
