My Apple Account was compromised in October 2023 after I fell for a phishing scam. The attackers changed the account email address and password, accessed my bank account, remotely erased my iPad Pro, and left it Activation Locked. I also lost access to my MacBook and many iCloud photos. I have owned the iPad since 2021 and it has remained in my possession the entire time; this is not a forgotten-password or secondhand-device situation.
I have contacted Apple Support repeatedly and kept extensive documentation, including the original Amazon invoice showing the iPad's serial number, photos of the engraved serial number, Apple emails confirming unauthorized account changes, Find My notifications, previous case numbers, and a detailed timeline. Recently, a Senior Advisor escalated the matter to the Activation Lock review team, but that team issued a final denial.
I am not looking for a bypass or anything that violates Apple's security policies. I want to know whether there is any legitimate escalation path left, such as account-compromise specialists, Executive Relations, an Apple Store review, a police report, or another formal process. Has anyone successfully had a final Activation Lock denial reconsidered, or is the device effectively unusable once the review team rejects the request?

If the iPad was remotely erased and placed in Lost Mode, the situation is unfortunately very difficult. Apple treats that lock as a security feature tied to the original account, and ordinary support generally cannot remove it just because the owner can physically present the device. Reporting the account takeover and financial fraud to law enforcement and your bank is still worthwhile, but it may not change the Activation Lock decision.
Apple’s account-recovery process is usually the only route for regaining the original account. If the attackers changed the trusted phone number, email, or two-factor authentication details, support agents typically cannot simply restore access manually. A final denial from the Activation Lock review team usually means there is no separate technical department that can override it, although you can ask Apple Support whether an executive-level complaint or formal fraud review is available.
It may still be worth visiting an Apple Store with the iPad, government ID, and the original purchase documentation showing the serial number. Store staff cannot unlock it themselves, but they may be able to submit or verify an official ownership review. The paperwork generally needs to be from Apple or an authorized retailer and clearly identify the device. Since you have already received a denial, there is no guarantee they will reopen the case, but an in-person review is one of the few legitimate steps left.

The store’s ability to help can depend on whether the device is merely Activation Locked or also marked as lost. If it is marked lost under the compromised account, staff may have no way to override the account status and may direct you back to account recovery.
