I'm considering replacing the stock fans in my Musetex Y6 case with Corsair RS120 fans. I previously tried Thermalright fans, but they were noticeably loud and I couldn't make them quieter by adjusting the fan settings. I'm using an X570 motherboard, so I'm wondering whether the issue was poor compatibility, incorrect fan control, or simply how the case amplified the noise. Are Corsair RS120 fans generally noisy, or should they run quietly with a properly configured fan curve?

The RS120 fans aren’t generally known for being unusually loud. Like any fan, they become much more noticeable at higher speeds—especially above roughly 2,000 RPM. Make sure they’re connected to controllable PWM headers and set a sensible temperature-based fan curve in the BIOS. Case resonance and turbulence from restrictive dust filters or grilles can also make otherwise normal fans sound louder.
Fan noise depends more on the selected speed and the case airflow setup than on the brand alone. If maximum silence is your priority, Noctua fans are a reliable option, though they cost more and usually don’t include RGB. For the Corsair fans, start with a lower minimum speed and gradually increase it based on CPU or system temperature rather than running them at full speed all the time.
I don’t mind some noise when the system is working hard. I’m mainly concerned that the fans might be running loudly because they aren’t being controlled correctly, since the stock Musetex fans are fairly quiet.
