This is my first PC build, with a budget of about €2,500 and flexibility to go roughly €100 over. I want to play games at 1440p while recording or possibly streaming, and I'll also use the system for Photoshop, DaVinci Resolve, Illustrator, and Blender. I'm currently considering a Ryzen 9 7900X, Gigabyte B650 AORUS ELITE AX V2, Arctic Liquid Freezer III Pro 360, RTX 5070 Ti, 16GB of DDR5-6000 CL30 memory, a 2TB PCIe 5.0 NVMe SSD, a 1000W Gold PSU, and a Lian Li Vector V100R case. I'm based in the Balkans, have no major size or noise restrictions, and would prefer a mostly black build.
Because of the budget, I can currently afford only one 16GB RAM stick, although I plan to add a second one later. How badly would running single-channel memory affect gaming and productivity? Would it be better to cut costs elsewhere and buy a 2x16GB kit now?
I'm also unsure about the Ryzen 9 7900X. Some reviews say games generally benefit from fewer, faster cores and that the 7900X does not offer much gaming improvement over cheaper CPUs, while productivity applications can use more cores. Should I be concerned about its gaming performance, and are there similarly priced alternatives worth considering?
Could the 360mm AIO interfere with the RAM or motherboard installation? Is there a reliable way to check compatibility? Is a 1000W power supply excessive for an estimated system draw of 579W, or is the extra headroom useful? Finally, should I spend around €400 on a 2TB PCIe 5.0 SSD, or would a less expensive 2TB PCIe 4.0 drive provide better value and let me upgrade the memory?

For this build, 32GB as a matched dual-channel kit would be a much better starting point than 16GB on one stick. You can always add more memory later if your editing or Blender projects require it.
The 360mm AIO should not normally block the RAM, although the exact clearance depends on where the radiator is mounted and on the case layout. Check the case’s radiator and motherboard compatibility lists, along with the cooler’s installation diagrams. A 1000W unit is not overboard for a high-end system with future upgrades, though a quality 750W–850W model could also be sufficient if you want to reduce the cost. PCIe 4.0 storage is generally the sensible value choice here; PCIe 5.0 is expensive and may not noticeably improve gaming or most creative-work tasks.
The single 16GB stick is probably the biggest weakness in this list. It runs in single-channel mode and can noticeably reduce performance, especially in productivity workloads. I’d prioritize a 2x16GB DDR5 kit, even if that means saving money on another component.
The 7900X is not a bad gaming CPU; it simply does not usually provide a meaningful gaming advantage over something like a 7700X. Its additional cores are more useful for rendering, video work, and other heavily threaded tasks. An Intel Core Ultra 7 270K Plus or another comparable Intel option may also be worth checking, since it can be competitive in both productivity and gaming, but either platform should be capable for your use case.
A 1000W PSU is more than strictly necessary, but it is still reasonable if the price is good. It leaves room for future upgrades and accounts for PSU aging. For storage, a good 2TB PCIe 4.0 SSD is likely a better fit than an expensive PCIe 5.0 model. The extra capacity matters more for your workflow, and the money saved could go toward dual-channel memory.

That makes sense. I’ll look into a 2x16GB kit and compare the cost of a quality 2TB PCIe 4.0 drive. I had originally dismissed Intel because AMD gets recommended so often, but I’ll compare the Core Ultra options with the 7900X before deciding.
