If you already expect to need 64GB, a matched 2×32GB kit is the safer choice. For gaming today, 32GB is generally enough, and future memory requirements are hard to predict, so buying four sticks now isn’t necessarily worthwhile. Two modules also usually provide slightly better memory performance than four, although the difference is modest.
Some people do run four 16GB DDR5 sticks successfully, including at rated speeds, but it varies with the motherboard, CPU’s memory controller, BIOS, and the particular modules. Expect longer memory-training times after installation and be prepared to manually reduce the speed if the advertised profile is unstable.
