Can I Pass the AZ-900 Using Free Videos and Microsoft Learn?

I have a computer science degree and some IT experience, so I expect the AZ-900 fundamentals exam to be relatively manageable. I'm hoping to prepare quickly and would rather use free resources, such as YouTube courses and the official Microsoft Learn material, instead of paying for a training course. Is that enough to pass, and are there any resources or study tips I should prioritize?

AZ-900 is mostly a high-level overview of Azure services, what they do, pricing concepts, security, governance, and basic cloud principles. It isn’t technically deep, so paid training usually isn’t necessary. Just make sure you understand the full exam outline and use practice questions to find weak areas.

Free study material is fine for this certification, but don’t rush so much that you only memorize answers. Building a solid understanding now will make later Azure certifications much easier, even though the more advanced exams require considerably deeper preparation.

The official Microsoft Learn path alone was enough for me to pass on my first attempt. It covers the objectives directly, so I’d use it as the main study guide and supplement it with videos where a topic doesn’t make sense.

Yes, free resources should be enough for AZ-900, especially with your background. John Savill’s course is a popular option, but watch a sample first to make sure his teaching style and pace work for you. Focus on understanding the concepts rather than memorizing product names.
