I recently bought Doom: The Dark Ages, but I found out my current graphics card has only 6 GB of VRAM while the game requires 8 GB. Is it possible to upgrade the VRAM on my existing card, or would I need to replace the entire GPU?

Technically, specialized repair technicians can sometimes solder different memory chips onto a graphics card, but that’s an advanced modification and usually not worth the risk or cost. Replacing the GPU is the sensible option.
Before buying anything, check your full system specifications, especially the power supply, case space, CPU, and motherboard. The replacement card needs to be compatible with your power supply and physical setup.
In most cases, you cannot practically add VRAM to an existing graphics card. You’ll need to replace it with a card that has at least 8 GB of VRAM, and preferably one that supports hardware ray tracing, since the game requires that too.
