Hey everyone! I'm trying to hook up my PS4 to an old HP 2011x monitor while I'm at university. I have a VGA to HDMI adapter, but my VGA cable isn't working properly. I came across a DVI to HDMI cable on Amazon and was wondering if that would work instead of the VGA. Do I need a new VGA cable, or can DVI work in this scenario?

You're right in thinking DVI can be a substitute! Just make sure to get a proper HDMI to DVI-D cable, which should work well with the monitor. But be aware, since the monitor's resolution is 1600x900, you might need to set your PS4 to output 720p or whatever the monitor supports to avoid flickering issues.
First, check what inputs your monitor has. The HP 2011x usually comes with a VGA and a DVI-D port, so you'll need something that connects to one of these. An HDMI to DVI-D adapter should work just fine! Just ensure the PS4 output settings are adjusted accordingly.
Just to clarify, if your monitor has a DVI-D port, then using an HDMI to DVI-D cable will do the trick. An adapter like that can definitely solve your problem. If you're still having flickering issues, it might be worth trying a different adapter or a direct cable to see if that resolves it.
