Hey everyone! I recently picked up a second-hand Blackberry Curve 8330 at a flea market and I'm loving the full QWERTY keyboard. This phone does support mobile data, but I'm not looking to spend money on that. I have access to WiFi and was wondering if there's a way to somehow replace the mobile data feature with WiFi functionality. I'm willing to open it up since the battery and SD card are easily accessible, but I have no experience in modding phones. Any advice would be super helpful! Thanks!

Unfortunately, there's really no practical way to add WiFi to a phone that wasn't originally designed for it. Even if you managed to get something working, the device is quite old and likely wouldn't be compatible with most internet services anyway.
One potential option could be to try using a USB mini to USB adapter along with a USB WiFi dongle. It sounds kind of klunky, but you could see if the phone can even recognize WiFi that way. Just keep in mind, the phone might not support it in the end.
That idea probably won’t work since the device would need to be programmed to connect to WiFi, which it can't do.
You won't find success getting data to work regardless, especially since many carriers have already shut down their CDMA networks that the Curve relies on.
Adding WiFi isn't feasible. The OS lacks the capability to connect to WiFi, so even if you somehow managed a hardware hack, the phone still wouldn't function with it. Plus, if mobile data was an option, I bet a lot of modern services would still be inaccessible given the age of the device.
Does that phone even have USB ports? I’m not sure it has a web browser either, and if it does, it probably won’t work with most websites these days.
