Could You Review My First Gaming PC Build Under $3,000?

This is my first time putting together a PC, and I'd appreciate a second opinion before buying anything. I'm aiming to spend around $3,000, although I have some flexibility. The system will be used primarily for gaming. Are there any compatibility concerns, weak component choices, or areas where I could get better performance or save money?

For a gaming-focused build, consider an AMD X3D processor such as the Ryzen 7 9800X3D, paired with a Radeon RX 9070 XT. That combination should provide excellent gaming performance while potentially reducing the total cost compared with the current selection.

If this is strictly for gaming, a Ryzen 7 7800X3D could be a cheaper alternative, depending on current pricing. You also probably don’t need an oversized power supply; an 850W quality unit should be enough for a build in this performance range.

A 1,050W power supply is more than this setup needs. Moving to a good 850W model would free up some budget without sacrificing stability.

One alternative build would center on a Ryzen 7 9800X3D, Radeon RX 9070 XT, 32GB of DDR5 memory, a 2TB NVMe drive, and a quality AM5 motherboard. That kind of configuration should stay comfortably below the budget while putting more of the money toward gaming performance. Just make sure the memory and storage prices are reasonable, since premium branding can add a lot without making games run faster.

The best recommendations depend on details that aren’t included yet, especially your target resolution and refresh rate, the games you play, and whether you need the PC for anything besides gaming. Some of the current component choices may be unnecessarily expensive or not well balanced for that use case.
