I'm putting together my first gaming PC and would appreciate feedback before I finish purchasing and assembling everything. After making a few changes—and dealing with some surprisingly high component prices—I currently have this parts list: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/QctDJw. I'm still learning, so I'd especially like advice on component value, CPU and platform choice, cooling, memory, power supply selection, and anything else that could improve performance, reliability, or noise levels.

It may be worth pricing a newer Ryzen 7 9800X3D build as well. Depending on current discounts, you might be able to get that CPU along with an additional 1TB of storage for roughly the same total cost—or possibly less—once the case and power supply are included. It’s worth checking the complete build price rather than comparing individual components.
The power supply is easy to overlook, so make sure it is included in the final parts list and has enough wattage for the CPU and graphics card. An 80 Plus Gold rating and strong independent reviews are reassuring, but quality, protections, and the specific model matter more than the efficiency label alone.
Before committing to the current CPU, compare it with the Core i7-14700K. It can offer similar gaming performance for less in some markets, while the Ryzen 7 5800X3D is usually most attractive for people upgrading an existing AM4 system rather than building a new one. Also, consider spending a little more on a larger CPU cooler, such as a dual-tower model. The extra surface area can keep temperatures and fan noise lower. The selected 32GB DDR4-3200 CL16 kit also seems expensive; a 32GB DDR4-3600 CL16 kit may provide better value at a similar price.
I already purchased the memory because I saw prices rising and rushed the decision. I haven’t assembled the PC yet, though, so I’ll upgrade to a larger heatsink. I definitely don’t want the system sounding like an old, overheated console.
Unfortunately, I’ve already bought the memory, so changing platforms now would make the comparison less straightforward.
