Gigabyte X870 Aorus build won’t power on in the Hyte X50 case

I just completed a new build using a Gigabyte Aorus X870 Elite WiFi7 motherboard and a Hyte X50 case, but pressing the case power button produces no response at all. The ATX connector, both CPU power connectors, GPU, storage, RAM, and PSU connections appear to be installed correctly, and the switch on the Corsair RM850x is turned on. The case has a 9-pin front-panel cable, while the motherboard's bottom-right F_PANEL header appears to have 17 pins. I tried positioning the cable on both sides of the header, but the system still does not start. The components are a Ryzen 7 7800X3D, 64GB of G.Skill DDR5, a 1TB M.2 SSD, a 4TB M.2 SSD, and a PNY RTX 5070 Ti. What should I check next, and could the front-panel connector be attached incorrectly?

The front-panel header may look like a 17-pin block, but the important part is the pin labels printed in the motherboard manual. A standard two-wire power-switch plug only uses the PWR_SW pair and has no polarity. It should not be shifted arbitrarily to one side of the header. Disconnect the case cable and short the specified power pins directly; that gives you a clear test of whether the motherboard and PSU can start.

You can bypass the case switch to test the front-panel wiring. Use the motherboard manual to identify the two power-switch pins—often labeled PWR_SW—and briefly touch those two pins together with a screwdriver. If the system starts, the problem is the case cable, its placement, or the case button. Don’t bridge random pins on the larger header; the pin layout can vary between boards.

First, verify every PSU-side connection rather than only checking the motherboard ends. The 24-pin ATX cable and both CPU power cables need to be fully latched, and the modular cables must be the ones supplied with that exact PSU. Also confirm the PSU switch is set to “I.” If there are still no lights or fan movement, try powering the board outside the case with only the CPU, one RAM stick, and PSU connected to rule out a case short.
