I've been having this weird issue with my computer lately. It randomly opens a new tab and starts typing in the address bar by itself. This has happened several times tonight, and while I thought it was fixed after running multiple malware detection programs like Malwarebytes, RKill, and Defender, it seems to be happening again. I generally use my computer for normal stuff like browsing social media and watching movies, and I've never really been to any sketchy sites. I'm using Chrome, but I'm thinking about switching to Firefox. Does anyone have any ideas on what could be going on?

Did you buy this computer used, by any chance? If so, have you done a hard reset on the operating system? Sometimes that can clean out really stubborn issues.
It sounds like a bad Chrome extension or possibly some leftover adware causing those issues. I suggest removing any suspicious extensions, resetting Chrome, and running Malwarebytes again in safe mode just to cover all bases. That should help get rid of any lingering problems!
Just to clarify, browsing adult content doesn't necessarily infect your PC. It's usually the sketchy downloads or shady add-ons that cause issues. Be careful with notifications too!
Honestly, I’d recommend switching from Chrome entirely. Browsers like Firefox or even some alternatives like Waterfox offer better privacy options and don't come with the baggage of Chromium-based browsers. Migration is usually straightforward, and it's worth it for your peace of mind!
Consider using a Linux live USB with ClamTk antivirus to scan for malware. This way, you can get a clearer picture of what’s happening without anything running from your main OS.
