How can I get Citrix Workspace working reliably on Fedora Linux?

I need Citrix Workspace for remote management work at a hospital, so it is the main thing preventing me from removing my Windows partition. I had it working briefly on Ubuntu, then Debian, but it eventually stopped working on both. I recently switched to Fedora and installed the RPM directly from Citrix, yet the connection still works only intermittently. Sometimes a "Connecting" window appears and eventually times out. I am wondering whether this is a Linux compatibility issue, a configuration problem, or something my employer's Citrix setup is blocking. I would prefer to use my desktop instead of the company's small-screen laptop. Has anyone had reliable success with Citrix Workspace on Fedora, and what should I check?

Citrix deployments can behave very differently depending on how the organization configured them. Some workplaces require you to start the session through a web portal rather than launching the Citrix application directly. The portal may also provide a downloaded connection or configuration file that sets up the correct session. It would be worth asking your IT department for the exact Linux connection procedure and whether Linux clients are supported for your setup.

First confirm that you are using a supported Linux version and desktop environment, then compare your setup with the organization’s documented Citrix procedure. Installing the RPM alone may not be enough if the workplace requires a browser-based launch, a particular authentication plugin, or a supplied configuration file. Since the company laptop works, asking IT to verify the intended workflow and whether the connection attempt reaches their gateway is probably the fastest way to isolate the issue.

I am currently using GNOME on Fedora 44. I would use the company laptop if necessary, but its small screen is difficult for me to work with.

I use Citrix Workspace on Fedora with GNOME every day without major problems, so Fedora itself is not necessarily the issue. If it stays on “Connecting” until it times out, the problem could be the gateway, authentication method, required configuration, or a policy on your employer’s side. IT should be able to check the connection logs and confirm whether Linux clients are allowed.

That is exactly what I am seeing: a Connecting window that never progresses and eventually times out. It has also been suggested that my employer may be blocking or mishandling Linux connections.
