I factory reset my Lenovo laptop running Windows 11 about two months ago, but I didn't regain any storage space. What can I do to get more storage on my device?

Factory resets can sometimes lead to issues where files aren't erased properly. It's possible your reset just reinstalled Windows without clearing out some space. Check if you have a folder called C:windows.old, which might contain old files taking up space. If you don't, you'd need to explore other options to cleanup or expand your storage.

A clean install is generally recommended over factory resets. It clears everything out effectively. Considering you have only 120GB of storage, which is pretty tight for Windows 11, I'd suggest upgrading to a larger SSD. If you decide to do this, make sure you clone your existing drive to preserve your data before swapping the drives.

It sounds like a good move to avoid another factory reset if you're worried about losing your Windows activation. Instead, try checking your drive for other unnecessary files or use disk cleanup tools to free up space. Also, make sure to monitor what's stored on your laptop to avoid hitting storage limits too quickly.

Realistically, 120GB isn't enough for everyday use, especially if you're storing media files. I personally recommend upgrading to at least 512GB for decent space to work with. First, figure out what type of SSD your laptop supports, then look into getting a larger one.
