How can I manage fan speeds and power limits on a Lenovo LOQ running Linux Mint?

I'm using a Lenovo LOQ with Linux Mint and want to adjust settings such as fan speed, CPU power limits, and GPU temperature limits. Lenovo Vantage seems to be designed for Windows, so is there a Linux-compatible alternative or another recommended way to control these settings for gaming?

Lenovo Vantage itself won’t run natively on Linux. For gaming, monitor temperatures with Linux tools and use the controls your laptop exposes through its firmware or Linux kernel interfaces. Community Lenovo utilities may offer features such as performance modes or fan controls, but don’t assume every Vantage setting—especially custom power or temperature limits—will be available or safe to change.

My main concern is keeping temperatures under control while gaming. I’ll check which controls are actually supported for my specific LOQ model instead of assuming the Windows settings will carry over.

There is no official Lenovo Vantage application for Linux Mint because Vantage is a Windows-only tool. You can look into community projects that provide command-line or graphical controls for some Lenovo features, but hardware support may vary by LOQ model. One option is a Lenovo-focused command-line utility, while another project provides a graphical interface built around similar functionality.
