How can I safely download an official copy of Ventoy?

I've tried downloading Ventoy from its official website several times, but my browser blocks the file each time with a "couldn't download file — malicious file detected" warning. Is there another trustworthy way to obtain the official release, or a way to determine whether the warning is a false positive?

Try downloading it with a different browser, such as Firefox. Chrome- or Edge-based security checks can occasionally flag legitimate files incorrectly, especially when the download is an archive or executable.

The official download page hosts the release files through SourceForge. If the browser blocks the download there too, the browser’s security filter may be overreacting. You could try downloading the file with a command-line tool such as curl or wget, then verify its checksum against the value published by the Ventoy project.

A download manager may work around a browser-specific download failure, but it’s still important to verify that the file came from the official project and to check its checksum before using it.

If Ventoy is available through your Linux distribution’s package manager, that can be another convenient option. Just check which version it provides and confirm that the package source is trusted.
