I recently got a 240Hz monitor, and I can select 240Hz in my PC settings. But I'm not sure if it's really functioning at that refresh rate. My HDMI cable is pretty old, and I can't remember if it's 1.0 or 2.0. The screen feels fast, but I'm confused if I'm actually getting 144Hz or the full 240Hz. I have a GTX 1080 Ti graphics card; can anyone help clarify this for me?

If you want to be really sure, you could use online tools to check your refresh rate. There are websites available that can confirm if your setup is actually running at 240Hz—just can't recall the exact one right now. Maybe someone can drop the link?
If you can select 240Hz and it stays at that setting, then yes, your monitor is likely operating at that refresh rate! If it were bottlenecked by the cable or settings, you would either see a lower refresh rate or it would revert back automatically.
Exactly! The smoothness of motion is a good indicator too. If everything feels fluid, you’re probably good to go.
You should definitely be seeing 240Hz if it’s applied and saved in your settings. Your display will not show that option or stay on it if it can't handle it. Beyond that, if you're still unsure, check your monitor settings for an FPS counter; that could clear things up!

I think it's just "whatismyrefreshRate.com" or something similar. That should help you out!
