I recently built a gaming PC, and a blackout occurred while it was powered on, although I wasn't actively using it. I switched off the power supply right away, and electricity has now been restored. What should I check in the hardware and in the operating system to make sure everything is still working properly?

There usually isn’t a special post-blackout diagnostic you need to perform. Check that all fans and drives are detected, look for hardware warnings in the operating system, and run a normal workload or a light stability test. If everything behaves normally, the outage likely didn’t damage anything.
Turn it on and see whether it boots normally. If it starts up, reaches the operating system, and runs as usual, it’s probably fine. Test your usual programs or a game for a little while and watch for crashes, unusual noises, burning smells, overheating, or other warning signs.
