My morning alarm has failed to make any sound all week, and I've already missed work three days in a row. My evening alarm still works normally. I'm using an iPhone 16 on iOS 18.6.2. When I woke up at 8:45, the alarm banner was on the screen, but there was no audible alert. I usually fall asleep watching videos in the Brave browser. What settings should I check to get the morning alarm working again?

Open each problem alarm and reselect its sound. Sometimes an alarm can end up disconnected from its chosen tone even though the alarm itself still appears. If that doesn’t help, delete the morning alarm and create a fresh one instead of editing the existing entry.
Try setting a few test alarms for times when you’re awake. That should show whether the problem happens at a particular time or with one specific alarm. Also check that Silent Mode and any Focus mode aren’t affecting the alarm, and confirm the alarm’s sound is set to an actual tone rather than None.
Make sure the Clock app is allowed to send notifications. The fact that the alarm banner appeared but stayed silent suggests the alert was triggered, but a permission or sound setting may have changed recently. Check the alarm volume and notification settings, then test it before relying on it for work.

I just enabled notifications for the Clock app, and that setting had apparently been turned off. I’m not sure why it changed this week, but I’ll test the alarm tonight and check the sound selection too.
