I'm getting my first prebuilt gaming PC, with an RTX 5070 Ti, Intel Core i9-14900K, 32GB of DDR5 RAM, a 2TB NVMe SSD, a 360mm liquid cooler, and multiple case fans. I'll mainly play Roblox and Rocket League while occasionally keeping a couple of apps and browser tabs open. The memory is rated at DDR5-5200 with CL40 timing, and I'm worried it might be too slow after hearing that CL40 isn't very good. Is this RAM a problem, or will it be perfectly fine for what I'm planning to do?

The memory specification is a little underwhelming compared with ideal DDR5, but it isn’t bad or defective. CL40 is the latency rating, while 5200 MT/s is the memory speed; you need both numbers to judge the kit. For your games and having a few apps and tabs open, 32GB of DDR5-5200 will be more than enough. The much bigger performance factors will be the graphics card, processor, and whether the system is configured properly.
DDR5-5200 CL40 isn’t especially fast by current gaming standards, but it’s still completely usable. The 32GB capacity is more important for your use, and Roblox, Rocket League, multitasking, and normal browsing will run without any issue. Faster DDR5 kits, such as 6000 MT/s with tighter timings, could provide a small performance improvement, but you probably won’t notice much difference in these games. Since it’s a prebuilt, I’d just make sure the RAM is running at its advertised speed in the BIOS and avoid replacing it unless you’re trying to optimize every last bit of performance.
