I recently moved my G443 gaming PC to the basement and connected it to an APC UPS rated at 600 VA and 330 watts. Browsing and watching videos works normally, but when I launch Helldivers, the UPS light turns amber and it emits a continuous alarm. The alarm stops when I quit the game. I believe this indicates that the UPS is overloaded. Could continuing to play games this way damage the PC or the UPS, or should I replace it with a higher-capacity model?

A 600 VA/330 W unit is quite small for a gaming PC, especially when the graphics card is under load. Replace it with a UPS whose watt rating comfortably exceeds the computer’s measured maximum draw. A 1500 VA model may be appropriate, but check its actual watt rating rather than choosing based on VA alone.
The overload itself usually isn’t directly damaging the PC, but an unexpected shutdown can cause crashes, corrupted files, or problems if data is being written at the time. A UPS is meant to provide short-term backup power so you can shut down safely, not to act as a permanent power source for a load above its rating.
That alarm means the UPS is being overloaded. It may continue beeping, and if the load stays too high, the UPS could shut off or trip, cutting power to the entire system. It’s best not to use this UPS while gaming.
