Is a Ryzen 7 7800X3D and Radeon RX 9070 XT a Good First Gaming PC?

I've been gaming on consoles my whole life and am finally planning to switch to PC. I'm considering a Ryzen 7 7800X3D paired with a Radeon RX 9070 XT, with the total build costing just under $2,000. Is this a strong combination for the price, or are there better-performing options around the same budget? My main games will be Call of Duty, Warzone, and FIFA, but I also want enough performance to stream future games. I know the next Grand Theft Auto may take a while to arrive on PC, and I'm fine waiting since I have a PS5 for playing it at launch.

The system should be a great first PC, especially if you’re targeting 1440p. Just keep in mind that the next Grand Theft Auto title may not arrive on PC until a year or more after the console release. Since you already have a PS5, you can play it there and use the PC for streaming if you don’t want to wait.

I don’t mind waiting for the PC version. My main games are Call of Duty, Warzone, and FIFA, so I’m comfortable going ahead with this build.

That’s an excellent pairing for the money. The 7800X3D is a particularly strong gaming CPU, and the RX 9070 XT should handle high-refresh-rate 1440p gaming very well. For a build just under $2,000, you’re already close to the best performance-per-dollar combination available.

You could spend considerably more on the next tier of components, but the performance improvement probably wouldn’t justify the extra cost. For Call of Duty, Warzone, FIFA, and streaming, this setup should give you plenty of headroom.

That’s what I was hoping to hear. I’m mainly focused on Warzone and future Call of Duty games, with streaming as an additional goal.
