I'm planning to build a new gaming PC for my birthday and want to make sure the parts are well matched. The build would use a Ryzen 7 7800X3D, an RX 9070 XT, 32GB of DDR5 memory, and a 1440p monitor. I've tried several bottleneck calculators, but they give conflicting results. I mainly want to play my Steam library at high or maximum settings with decent frame rates, especially Farming Simulator 25 with hundreds of mods. I don't play competitive games very often. Is this CPU and GPU combination balanced, or would I be better off changing one of them?

For playing a broad Steam library at maximum settings, this is a powerful setup. Farming Simulator 25 and a large mod collection may sometimes be limited by the game engine, mod complexity, storage speed, or memory usage rather than simply the CPU or GPU. Since your current PC is still decent, selling it can help fund the new build or improve your monitor, mouse, keyboard, and other peripherals. Just compare current prices before buying and don’t upgrade parts solely because a calculator reports a theoretical bottleneck.
At 1440p with demanding graphics settings, the RX 9070 XT will usually be the part limiting frame rates, which is exactly what you would expect from a gaming PC. In lighter games or competitive titles at low settings, the CPU may become the limit instead. Neither situation is automatically a problem—the goal is a sensible balance, and this is one.
The 7800X3D is more than capable for that graphics card and should be especially good in CPU-heavy games. You could spend more on a newer high-end processor for somewhat higher frame rates in select titles, but the improvement may not justify the extra cost for 1440p gaming. Keeping the 7800X3D and putting the money toward a good monitor or peripherals is perfectly reasonable.
That combination is already very strong, so there’s no obvious mismatch to worry about.
