I have a Cougar MX330-X case with a Gigabyte B550M DS3H motherboard. My old Ryzen 5 3600 was using the stock Wraith Stealth cooler, and the computer is roughly six years old. After noticing unusually high idle and gaming temperatures, I decided to replace the cooler. When I removed the cooler screws, it was stuck to the CPU because the thermal paste had hardened. Pulling on the cooler accidentally lifted the CPU straight out of the AM4 socket, even though the socket lever was still locked. While trying to separate the CPU from the cooler, I unfortunately broke several CPU pins, so I bought a Ryzen 5 5600X as a replacement. The motherboard socket and locking lever appear to move and lock normally, and I do not see any pins stuck in the socket. Is the motherboard likely still usable, or could pulling the CPU out while the lever was locked have damaged the socket mechanism?

This is a fairly common problem with AM4 systems when the thermal paste dries out. If there is no visible damage to the socket and no broken CPU pins stuck inside it, the motherboard is probably fine. The main casualty is likely the old processor.
AM4 sockets do not hold the CPU down with much force, so a cooler with hardened paste can pull the chip out despite the retention lever being closed. Try gently twisting the cooler before lifting it next time, and run the system briefly beforehand to warm and soften the paste. Dental floss can sometimes help separate a stubborn cooler, too.
If the CPU pins were broken while separating the processor from the cooler and none are stuck in the motherboard, the socket itself is probably unharmed. Since the lever still moves and locks normally, install the new chip carefully and test the system. Just make sure the motherboard BIOS supports the Ryzen 5 5600X.
The video quality makes it difficult to inspect, but the important thing is whether the socket has bent or damaged contacts. Since you confirmed that no pins were left in the socket and the latch still functions, the board has a good chance of working normally.
The pins were broken while I was trying to remove the CPU from the cooler, not inside the motherboard. I was mainly worried that pulling against the locked latch had damaged the socket itself.

I did try using floss, but unfortunately it still would not separate the cooler.
