I'm deciding between building a gaming PC myself and buying a PowerSpec G535 for $1,700. My DIY configuration uses a Ryzen 7 9800X3D, RX 9070 XT, 32GB of DDR5-6000 memory, a 2TB NVMe SSD, a 1050W Gold power supply, and a Lian Li LANCOOL 217 case. The parts list initially came to about $2,317, but an AMD CPU, motherboard, and memory bundle would bring the pre-tax total to roughly $2,150.
Compared with the prebuilt, the DIY system has a faster CPU, a larger SSD, and what appear to be better overall components. The prebuilt costs about $450 less and includes a one-year warranty, while the DIY option would require assembling and troubleshooting everything myself. Is the extra performance and component quality worth paying the difference, or is the prebuilt the better value?

The main question is whether you’d pay roughly $450 for the 9800X3D, the larger and faster storage setup, and the generally better supporting parts. The prebuilt should still deliver very similar gaming performance because both systems use an RX 9070 XT, but the DIY machine gives you a stronger CPU and more room for storage. The one-year warranty and convenience are the main advantages of the PowerSpec system.
You can trim the DIY price a little by sticking with the bundle and choosing less expensive versions of the SSD and graphics card.
