I can buy an Intel Arc B580 for $325 or a Radeon RX 9060 XT 16GB for $460. I understand that the 9060 XT is faster, but I'm trying to decide whether the performance difference is large enough to justify spending an extra $135. I'm upgrading from an RTX 3060 and mainly want better 1440p performance. Would it be smarter to wait until Labor Day in case prices drop, or is the 9060 XT a good enough deal to buy now?

The RX 9060 XT 16GB is the better choice if the extra $135 fits your budget. It offers roughly 35–40% more performance, the same amount of VRAM, a stronger upscaling feature set, and generally more mature software support. Coming from an RTX 3060 and targeting 1440p, the larger performance jump should be much more noticeable than the B580 upgrade. I’d pay the difference for the Radeon rather than settling for a smaller improvement.
I’d lean toward the Radeon for long-term use, especially if you might eventually run SteamOS or another Linux-based gaming setup. AMD tends to have broader compatibility there, while Intel Arc support can depend more heavily on driver and software progress.
