Is the RTX 5060 Ti worth €108 more than the RTX 5060 for mostly 1080p gaming?

I'm choosing between two graphics cards available within my budget in Italy: a dual-fan RTX 5060 for €422, or an RTX 5060 Ti 8GB for €530 with two fans or €548 with three fans. My main use case is 1080p gaming, with occasional 1440p in games that can handle it. All of my other peripherals are already purchased. The RTX 9060 XT 16GB would cost about €70 more than the 5060 Ti, so it isn't really an option, and I also don't want to wait several weeks for a different deal. The 5060 Ti offers roughly 15–20% more performance, but I'm unsure whether that improvement justifies the extra €108 or more. Would the regular RTX 5060 be sufficient for my use case, or is the Ti worth considering despite both cards having 8GB of VRAM?

The RTX 5060 Ti is generally around 15–20% faster, depending on the game, so it isn’t literally the same card. However, both models can run into the same 8GB VRAM limit in newer games, especially at ultra settings or 1440p. If you choose the 5060, plan to use high rather than ultra textures in demanding titles and treat 1080p as the target resolution.

That was my concern too. I know the Ti has a noticeable performance advantage, but I’m not sure that level of improvement is worth paying over €100 more when both cards have 8GB.

For mostly 1080p gaming, I’d buy the RTX 5060 and keep the money. The Ti’s extra FPS is useful, but the price difference is large enough that it stops being a good value. Eight gigabytes can still work if you lower texture quality and avoid maxing every setting, and the 5060 should be adequate for your stated use case.

I agree that the regular 5060 is the more sensible choice here. Neither card is ideal for long-term 1440p gaming, so paying extra for the Ti doesn’t really change the upgrade outlook.

Both cards are expensive for what they offer, and 8GB is becoming increasingly restrictive in modern games. If 1440p is going to become your main resolution, I’d look for a used card with more VRAM, such as an RX 6800 XT, RTX 4070, or RX 7700 XT. If your budget and availability limit you to these two new cards, stick with the RTX 5060 and target 1080p.

At these prices, I’d avoid spending €530 on an 8GB card. The RTX 5060 Ti is faster, but the extra performance doesn’t solve the main limitation: 8GB of VRAM. The triple-fan version also isn’t necessary because these cards don’t use enough power to require such a large cooler. If the 16GB alternative is unavailable or you don’t want to wait, the RTX 5060 makes more sense for a primarily 1080p build.

That makes sense. The 16GB option is available at a similar price, but delivery would take nearly a month, and I’d rather not wait that long.
