Is This $2,000 Gaming PC Build Good for 1440p AAA Gaming?

I'm building my first PC and have a budget of around $2,000. I adapted a similar parts list by replacing some components with cheaper alternatives, but I still want strong performance and high-quality graphics in modern AAA games. I'm coming from console and would like to target roughly 100–120 FPS or more, preferably at 1440p once I upgrade from my current 1080p monitor. I don't need maximum ray tracing or every setting at ultra, but I want games to look very good without sacrificing too much performance. Are there any parts I should replace to reduce the price, improve performance, or make the system more balanced? I'd also like the CPU and motherboard to leave room for future upgrades.

The ideal parts depend heavily on your resolution. For 1440p, putting more of the budget toward the graphics card makes sense, and a Ryzen 5 7600X3D paired with an RX 9070 XT would be a strong combination for high-refresh gaming. A 750W quality Gold-rated supply can work, though 850W gives you more upgrade flexibility. Make sure the case has good airflow.

I’m currently playing at 1080p but plan to move to 1440p soon. I’m also wondering whether the motherboard would support a Ryzen 7 9800X3D. I’d rather buy a strong CPU now if it means avoiding a bottleneck and delaying future upgrades.

Try to choose a TLC-based SSD rather than a QLC model when the prices are close. TLC drives generally offer better endurance and more consistent sustained performance. Also check the motherboard’s BIOS version before installing a newer processor such as the 7600X3D or 9800X3D; an update may be required, but the B650 platform should support the 9800X3D with the appropriate BIOS.

The list looks solid overall. I’d consider an 850W power supply for additional headroom, especially with a high-end graphics card. You may also be able to save money by checking CPU, motherboard, or memory bundles from major retailers.
