This is my first PC build, and I'd appreciate some advice before I commit to it. The parts are all new and the total cost is about $1,899:

- AMD Ryzen 5 9600X CPU
- Corsair Vengeance 32GB DDR5 RAM
- Radeon RX 9060 XT 16GB GPU
- ASUS TUF Gaming B650E motherboard
- Sharkoon AK6 case
- Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 Vision Max CPU cooler
- Kingston NV3 2TB SSD
- Thermaltake Toughpower GT 750W PSU

Is this a balanced build for gaming, and are there any parts I should reconsider?

The Ryzen 5 9600X, 32GB of memory, and 750W power supply make sense together. The cooler is more than capable, and the case should be fine as long as you install enough fans for airflow. I wouldn’t replace those parts unless you find a particularly good deal on a higher-end graphics card.

That’s a solid entry-level to midrange gaming build, especially for 1080p high-refresh gaming. It should also handle 1440p well with reasonable settings, and the 16GB version of the graphics card is the one to get. Make sure the motherboard firmware supports the Ryzen 5 9600X; you may need a BIOS update before everything works properly.

Thanks! I’ll check the BIOS version and make sure the board is ready for the processor.

At $1,899, I’d carefully compare the individual component prices because the value depends heavily on where you’re buying. If you’re comfortable with used hardware, a used RTX 4070, RTX 4070 Ti, or a faster Radeon card could offer more gaming performance for less money. You may also be able to save by choosing a less expensive SSD, since a good 2TB NVMe drive generally shouldn’t take up a huge portion of the budget.

The main possible upgrade is the GPU. If the budget allows, stepping up to an RX 9070 would provide a noticeable performance increase, potentially around 50% depending on the game. The rest of the parts are reasonably balanced, so I’d prioritize graphics performance over changing the CPU or motherboard.

That’s helpful. I’ll compare the price difference before deciding whether the RX 9070 fits my budget.
