Hey everyone! My boyfriend is working hard on building a new PC and has gathered a list of components using PCPartPicker to ensure everything is compatible. While he's still figuring out which case to use, he already has quite a solid setup in mind. He's chosen the CPU with gaming performance in mind since many newer games are CPU-heavy. He opted for a 750W PSU, although the website didn't have exactly that option. Also, he's considering switching to a 360mm CPU cooler for about 15 euros more, but that's still up in the air. Just a note, he has already purchased the GPU, so that part can't be changed. The motherboard requires a BIOS update if it's on an older version to support the CPU. Below are the components he's currently considering:
**CPU:** AMD Ryzen 7 9700X
**CPU Cooler:** Thermalright Aqua Elite V3 66.17 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler
**Motherboard:** Asus TUF GAMING B650-E WIFI ATX AM5 Motherboard
**Memory:** Corsair Vengeance 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR5-6000 CL30
**Storage:** Lexar NM790 2 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 4.0 X4 VME SSD
**GPU:** Asus PRIME OC Radeon RX 9070 XT 16 GB
**PSU:** be quiet! Pure Power 12 M 850 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply
Thanks a ton for any feedback or advice!

The parts look solid! Just make sure to flash the BIOS on the motherboard if it’s not updated for the CPU to work properly. Also, I’d recommend upgrading to an 850W PSU for extra headroom. That AIO cooler should work just fine!
If it’s just for gaming, getting the Ryzen 7 7800X3D would be a solid upgrade. Also, try to go for 32GB of DDR5 6400MHz RAM if possible!
Before I can give you more suggestions, I have a couple of questions:
1. Where are you both located?
2. What games does he play?
3. What's the total budget for the build?
4. Does he have any constraints regarding size or noise level?
5. Any preferences for color or lighting?
6. Does he need a new monitor?
7. Are any new peripherals necessary?
Here are his answers:
1. Italy
2. He'll play Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, Monster Hunter World, and Elden Ring next.
3. No fixed budget; he’s got the GPU already, so around 1k for the rest.
4. Not sure about size, but he doesn’t want a loud PC.
5. Performance is the priority, aesthetics aren’t a big deal.
6. He’ll need a new monitor, likely waiting a couple of months for a 1440p one and can use the old one in the meantime.
7. No new peripherals needed.
Hopefully, that helps clarify things a bit!
The build seems good, but if it’s in your budget, consider getting the Ryzen 7 7800X3D instead of the 9700X. It’s better for gaming!
Thank you so much!! Much appreciated!
