I'm in the process of building a new gaming PC and need some advice on choosing between the 9800X3D and the 7800X3D to pair with my 9070XT. I primarily game at 1440p, and I'm curious whether the price difference of about £90-£100 for the 9800X3D is justified. My plan is to keep this setup for a good while before considering any upgrades, so I'm looking for the best value option.

Honestly, at 1440p and with the right GPU, the difference is minimal. Since you're already spending a good amount, you might as well go for the 9800X3D for peace of mind.
I'd say go for the 7800X3D. The performance gap between it and the 9800X3D is pretty small, so you may not need to stretch your budget that far.
I've been using the 7800X3D and I'm really happy with it. It's a fantastic CPU that handles games very well without breaking the bank.
It really depends on your gaming style. If you're into eSports and need ultra-high FPS at lower settings, the 9800X3D might be the better pick. However, if you're mostly playing story-driven games at high settings, you might not notice a significant difference since your GPU will likely hold you back anyway. That said, I still think 7800X3D is a solid choice!

I do play a mix of games, from FPS to RPGs, so I'm thinking the GPU might limit me regardless.
