Is This a Well-Balanced Long-Term PC Build?

I've been planning this build for a long time, and I'm ready to retire my current Nitro 5 laptop to TV-PC duty. I'm trying to prioritize overall performance and longevity first, then value. Most of the components were purchased on sale, with the graphics card being the main exception. I want the system to last at least as long as my laptop has, and I'm planning a mild overclock rather than anything extreme. I'd appreciate feedback on compatibility, component choices, cooling, upgrade potential, and anything else I should consider.

CPU: Intel Ultra 7 270K+
GPU: ASRock RX 9070 XT Taichi
RAM: V-Colour Manta Xfinity Hynix 32GB CL30
Motherboard: ASRock Z890 Nova Intel Wi-Fi
Power supply: Sama Platinum 1200P, 1200W
Cooler: Arctic Liquid Freezer III Pro 360
Storage: ADATA Legend 850 Lite 2TB, carried over from the Nitro 5
Case: Corsair Frame 4000D with cold-intake panel

You may want to compare the Sama unit against more established power-supply lines from manufacturers such as Seasonic. The system doesn’t need 1200W right now, so choosing a highly reviewed 850W or 1000W model could be a better use of the budget. You could also consider an AM5 platform with a gaming-focused X3D processor, but sticking with Intel is reasonable if you’re more comfortable with it and the 270K+ offers the productivity performance you want.

I’ve always been more comfortable with Intel, and the 270K+ was cheaper while still offering strong overall performance. I’m not building exclusively for gaming, so I’d rather have a capable all-purpose processor.

The CPU makes more sense if this is an everything PC rather than a gaming-only system. It should handle gaming, productivity, and multiple tasks at once, but the platform may have limited future CPU upgrades compared with AM5. The Z890 board is also more expensive than necessary unless you specifically need its features or plan to overclock. The 360mm liquid cooler should provide excellent temperatures, though an air cooler is generally simpler and easier to maintain over many years. If the pump eventually fails, replacing the AIO would be necessary, while an air cooler has fewer failure points. The case is perfectly serviceable, although there are newer designs if airflow or flexibility becomes a priority.

I understand the maintenance advantage of air cooling, but I prefer the stronger cooling performance of the AIO because lower temperatures may help the other components over time. I’m also intentionally leaving room for a future CPU, GPU, and motherboard replacement, then I can pass the current parts along to someone who doesn’t need the newest platform.

The 1200W power supply is significantly more than this system needs. Even with overclocking, an 850W unit should comfortably handle an RX 9070 XT, while 1000W would already leave plenty of headroom. A larger-capacity PSU won’t damage the motherboard by itself, but the quality and reliability of the specific model matter more than having an enormous wattage rating.

I considered 1000W, but the 1200W model was only about $10 more. I’m mainly thinking about future upgrades and long-term headroom, assuming the unit itself is reliable.
