Is upgrading from an RX 9060 XT 16GB to an RTX 4070 Ti Super worth it?

Don’t use UserBenchmark for this comparison; its results and weighting are heavily criticized. Check game-specific reviews instead. A reasonable aggregate estimate puts the 4070 Ti Super around 30–50% faster than the 9060 XT in rasterized games, depending on the title, with a larger advantage in ray tracing. That’s a real upgrade, but probably not the 60–90% jump you’re expecting.

The 4070 Ti Super has substantially more rasterization performance than the 9060 XT, so calling it pointless isn’t quite accurate. However, you’d be buying an older used card in many cases, which could mean no warranty. I’d only do it if the price is genuinely good and you’ve checked its condition.

If you’re buying new, compare the price against an RX 9070 or 9070 GRE. They’re in a similar range in some markets and offer performance roughly around the 4070 Ti Super, while the 9070 XT is somewhat faster. The RTX 5070 Ti is faster still, but its extra cost may not be justified for the relatively small performance gain over the 9070-class cards.

I’d personally wait unless you specifically need better ray tracing, CUDA, or a major improvement in a particular game. The 9060 XT is already a capable current-generation card, and upgrading for only a moderate uplift usually feels underwhelming. Also, if you use Linux or might switch to it later, AMD generally provides a smoother experience than Nvidia.
