A local store has an RX 9070 GRE priced at $479, and I'm considering upgrading when I move from 1080p to a 1440p OLED monitor. Ideally, I'd sell my current card for around $430–$450 and pay only $30–$70 more, though I'm realizing local used pricing may be lower than online listing prices. Would the 9070 GRE be a worthwhile upgrade for 1440p, especially if the real price difference ends up being closer to $60–$100? Also, what would be a realistic selling price for my RX 9060 XT? There's also an RX 7800 XT available for roughly the same price as the 9070 GRE, so I'm wondering whether that would be a better alternative.

The main issue is resale value. If the store sells the same card new for around $449, buyers probably won’t pay $430–$450 for a used one, even if it’s clean and still under warranty. Locally, expect something closer to the mid-$300s. Shipping and marketplace fees would reduce your net amount even further.
If you can genuinely make the upgrade for only $30–$70, the 9070 GRE should be a good move. It offers roughly a one-third performance increase, which can help offset the extra workload from moving to 1440p. Just don’t base the calculation on getting nearly full retail value for your used card; a realistic sale price is probably in the high-$300s, depending on the exact model and remaining warranty.
