I'm planning a new gaming PC with a Gigabyte B850 AORUS ELITE WIFI7 motherboard, a Ryzen 7 7800X3D, and an RTX 4070 Ti Super. The motherboard supports both AMD EXPO and Intel XMP memory profiles. The XMP version of the DDR5-6000 kit I'm considering costs about $120 less than the EXPO version. Will using XMP RAM on this AMD system cause any compatibility issues or reduce gaming performance compared with EXPO?

It should work perfectly well. XMP and EXPO are just memory overclocking profiles, with XMP primarily intended for Intel systems and EXPO designed for AMD. Since this motherboard supports both, the XMP kit should run normally, although you might need to select or configure the profile manually in the BIOS.
DDR5-6000 is a very sensible speed for this setup. The 7800X3D generally isn't very sensitive to memory speed because of its large cache, so even somewhat slower RAM usually has only a small effect on gaming performance. You shouldn't see a meaningful frame-rate penalty from using the XMP version.
The profile may appear under a different name, such as DOCP, depending on the motherboard BIOS. Enable the memory profile and verify that the speed, timings, and voltage are correct. If the system isn't stable, you can fall back to manually setting the kit or using a slightly lower speed, but DDR5-6000 should normally be fine.
