I recently bought a JYX USB microphone that causes serious problems on my desktop. Windows does not detect it, and it never appears in Device Manager. After connecting it, my mouse may stop working even when moved to another USB port, and Windows can remain stuck on the shutting-down screen indefinitely. If I force the computer off and boot it again without the microphone connected, the mouse works normally. I have tried multiple USB ports, installed the chipset and audio drivers, and updated my ASRock B450M-HDV R4.0 motherboard to BIOS P10.60, but nothing changed. The microphone works properly with my phone and another computer. What could be causing this, and is there a safe way to use it with this PC?

Because the microphone is affecting the mouse and even preventing shutdown, this sounds more like a USB power or hardware problem than a missing driver. It may be overloading or crashing the motherboard's USB controller, even though it works with other devices. Try using a rear motherboard USB port instead of a case front-panel port, since front ports depend on the case's internal USB header. You could also test the microphone through a powered USB hub with its own wall adapter. If the hub makes the problem disappear, the issue is probably related to USB power or the motherboard's controller. If it still causes lockups, stop using the microphone on that PC because the device or its USB connection may be electrically faulty.
It does not immediately turn the computer off, but whenever I shut down after connecting the microphone, Windows stays on the shutting-down screen indefinitely.
