My ASUS ROG Strix G15 G513IE-HN075W has been suffering from increasingly frequent crashes and blue screens. The errors include DRIVER_OVERRAN_STACK_BUFFER, IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL, DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION, SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION (0x3B), PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA, MEMORY_MANAGEMENT, ATTEMPTED_EXECUTE_OF_NONEXECUTABLE_MEMORY, KERNEL_SECURITY_CHECK_FAILURE (0x139), FAST_ERESOURCE_PRECONDITION_VIOLATION, and KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED. It also sometimes freezes completely or shows a black screen with only the mouse visible.

The crashes happen unpredictably, including during startup, while idle, during normal use, and while gaming. I can sometimes play for hours without an issue, while other times the laptop crashes repeatedly. A technician suggested that the integrated graphics chip and battery might be failing, but I would like to know whether another hardware or software problem could explain the variety of errors. I tested each RAM module separately, ran MemTest86, and reset Windows twice, but the crashes continued.

The laptop has a Ryzen 7 4800H, integrated AMD Radeon graphics, an RTX 3050 Ti, 32 GB of DDR4-3200 memory, a 512 GB NVMe SSD, and a 2 TB secondary drive.

The next useful step is to collect the Windows crash dumps rather than guessing from the stop codes. Check C:WindowsMinidump for files created around the crashes. Copy them somewhere else, compress them, and review several dumps together. If the folder is empty, configure Windows to create small memory dumps and reproduce the problem. The dumps can help identify whether the crashes consistently point to a driver, graphics subsystem, storage device, or failing hardware.

There does not seem to be a consistent trigger. It can crash while booting or sitting idle, but it can also happen during games. Sometimes it crashes several times in a row, while other times it runs for hours.
