My CPU is Overheating—Need Help!

I've built my first PC about a year ago and it was running smoothly until recently. About a month ago, the fans kicked into overdrive, seemingly disconnected from their control settings in NZXT Cam, although that issue resolved itself. Now, my CPU is overheating—it's sitting at 36 degrees but can spike up to 70 degrees even with just 20% CPU usage. The fans ramp up to max speed and cool it down again to 36 degrees, but when I run intensive tasks, the temperatures climb to 80 degrees before I stop the task. The airflow is good, as the air coming out of the case is cool, and removing the side of the case doesn't help either. Any advice or tips on what could be wrong? Here are my specs: NZXT H5 Flow Case, NZXT Kraken 240 cooler, Ryzen 5 7600x, Radeon RX 7800 XT, MSI B650 Gaming Plus WiFi, 32GB Corsair DDR5 Ram, Samsung 980 Pro 2 TB NVME. Thanks!

Make sure your AIO pump is working correctly and showing the right speeds. If it’s failing, that could lead to these temperature spikes. Also, check your thermal paste—if it was poorly applied, that could be an issue too!

The pump is showing its RPM, and I can hear it whirring when I adjust it. I used the pre-applied thermal paste on the cooler, but I'll try replacing it since that’s a common suggestion.

First things first, consider replacing the thermal paste on your CPU. It can degrade over time, which might be causing the overheating.
