My Laptop is Stuck on an App – Help Needed!

I recently downloaded a file, and when I clicked on it, it led me to an app that I can't exit from at all. I've tried everything to close it – like using Ctrl+Shift+Esc, Alt+F4, and Ctrl+Q, but nothing works. I even attempted to shut down my laptop, but when I turn it back on, it goes straight to that app again. I can't access anything else on my laptop, and this app doesn't even appear on my taskbar or desktop. I'm really at a loss here! My keyboard shortcuts aren't helping either, and I apologize for any mistakes in my message since English isn't my first language. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

It seems a bit unclear what you mean by "app". Can you describe what’s on your screen in more detail? Like what text or images are you seeing? Knowing the exact app could help narrow down potential solutions. Also, double-check that you're performing the shutdown properly; sometimes computers don’t shut down fully, leading to strange issues.

It sounds like you might have downloaded something harmful, possibly malware. One option to consider is resetting Windows using the "keep my files" feature. This will delete all programs but keep your personal files like pictures and documents intact. However, you may need to navigate through recovery options since you can't access settings directly. If you need guidance on how to do this, let me know!

I really hope that's not the case for you! Just make sure you don't download files from sketchy sources in the future. If you want to reset, you might need to boot your laptop into Safe Mode first, which could help you access the necessary settings.

Thanks for the suggestion! I’ll definitely be more careful moving forward. Can you guide me through the reset process since I can't access any apps?
