My SSD is about a year and a half old and currently reports 99% available spare capacity in Windows 11. I've had corrupted Windows installations in the past and performed a factory reset once, but everything seemed fine afterward. Recently, though, every boot has shown a "scanning and repairing drive" message, so I checked the drive's health information and noticed 489,270 media and data integrity errors. How serious is this, and could it explain the repeated drive repairs?

Back up all important files to an external drive immediately. A large media or data integrity error count combined with Windows repeatedly scanning and repairing the drive is a strong warning sign, even if the SSD still reports 99% available spare capacity. I’d plan to replace the SSD soon rather than trusting it with your only copy of anything important.
So does that mean the SSD is probably failing? Is there a known reason this would start happening after working normally for more than a year?
