I mainly use my PC for gaming, with a bit of light 3D modeling on the side. My current system has a Ryzen 5 7600X and an RTX 3080. I'd like to play at 1440p on high or ultra settings while maintaining around 144 FPS. If I upgrade the graphics card, I'm considering an RTX 5070 Ti, but I'm unsure whether upgrading the processor would make more sense and which CPU would be a good choice.

I’d keep the 7600X for now and put the money toward the graphics card. If you later need a CPU upgrade, a Ryzen 7 7800X3D or 9800X3D would be strong gaming-focused options on the same platform. For substantially heavier modeling or rendering, a higher-core Ryzen 9 would be the better productivity upgrade.
A 5070 Ti-class card should be a noticeable step up for 1440p performance, but don’t upgrade blindly. Compare your actual GPU utilization and frame rates in your usual games first. A Radeon 9070 XT or similar card could also be worth considering if its price and performance are better in your region.
The GPU upgrade makes more sense for your target, especially if you want to max out demanding games at 1440p and stay near 144 FPS. The 7600X still has plenty of life for gaming, and an RTX 3080 can already handle 1440p well unless you’re pushing very high settings or newer, demanding titles.
Check GPU usage while playing the games you care about at 1440p high or ultra. If the GPU is consistently around 90% or higher, you’re GPU-limited and should upgrade the graphics card.
