I'm planning to replace my NZXT case and upgrade from my current RTX 2080 sometime this year or next. I like the design of the HYTE Y70 and I'm considering an RTX 5070, possibly from PNY, as long as pricing becomes reasonable. My Ryzen 7 5700X3D should be capable of handling the upgrade, but I'm unsure whether it makes more sense to buy a 50-series card or look for a 40-series option. I'm also concerned about PNY's warranty and the reports of GPU power-connector failures or cards burning out. My budget is probably under $1,000, and I'd like something that won't be excessively expensive.

The RTX 50-series and current AMD cards can be quite overpriced, so the best choice depends heavily on your actual budget and the prices available when you’re ready to buy. With a budget below $1,000, waiting and comparing several models may give you better value than buying the first RTX 5070 you see.
The RTX 40-series has been out of production for quite a while, so buying one new may be difficult and could mean paying leftover-stock prices. If you specifically want a new card, the RTX 50-series is the more realistic option, though you should compare its price and performance against AMD alternatives before deciding.
That makes sense. I hadn’t realized the 40-series had been unavailable for that long, so I’ll compare current 50-series and AMD pricing instead of assuming a new 40-series card will be easy to find.
I’m aiming for under $1,000 and preferably well below that. I haven’t followed GPU prices recently, so I’ll check the market closer to the upgrade rather than choosing a specific model now.
