I'm putting together a gaming and streaming system with a Ryzen 7 7800X3D, an X870E motherboard, 32GB of DDR5-6000 memory, an 850W Gold power supply, a 360mm liquid cooler, and a HYTE Y70 Touch case. I mainly play Call of Duty and would like strong performance without spending around £1,300 on an RTX 5080. What graphics cards offer the best value, either new or used?

If you want to stay with Nvidia, look at an RTX 5070 Ti. It won’t match the 5080 in every situation, especially at native 4K, but it can deliver roughly 4K/60 with upscaling and is usually several hundred pounds cheaper. The RX 9070 XT is generally the better value if ray tracing and Nvidia features aren’t priorities.
The Radeon RX 9070 XT is probably the best value option here. It is a little slower than an RTX 5080, but it costs considerably less and tends to perform very well in Call of Duty-style games. AMD cards can be especially competitive in titles developed with consoles in mind.
You could also consider the used market. A used RTX 4080 may offer good performance for substantially less than a new 5080, while a used RTX 4090 is faster but still tends to command a very high price. Check warranty, condition, and seller reputation carefully before buying.
The RX 7900 XT or 7900 XTX are also worth checking if you find a strong discount, but the newer 9070 XT is usually the more sensible recommendation. Your 7800X3D and 850W power supply should be suitable for these cards.
Used 4090 prices can still be close to or above £2,000 in some places, so the 4080 or a new 9070 XT may make more sense for the money.
