I'd like to run Arch Linux on my M3 iMac, but it doesn't appear to be supported yet. Are there any Linux distributions or setups that would provide a similar Arch-like experience, either directly on the hardware or through a virtual machine?

If you mainly want the Arch workflow, you could run Arch inside a virtual machine on macOS. That gives you pacman, the Arch repositories, and a similar user experience, though it won’t provide the same native hardware integration or performance as a proper installation.
There isn’t currently a close bare-metal alternative for an M3 Mac. The Asahi Linux project and its Arch-based distribution, Asahi ALARM, do not support M3 systems yet, so you’ll need to wait for the hardware support to mature.
At the moment, your practical choices are to keep using macOS with an Arch virtual machine, wait for M3 support in Asahi, or use a different computer with better-supported Linux hardware. There isn’t another distribution that can bypass the underlying M3 compatibility limitations.
They’re working toward M3 support, but it may still take quite a while. The exact timeline isn’t guaranteed.
