I built this gaming PC a while ago and am considering either replacing the GPU or building an entirely new system. I'm leaning toward a GPU upgrade because it should be much cheaper. My current system has a Ryzen 7 3800X, an ASRock X570 Phantom Gaming 4 motherboard, an RX 5700 XT, and 16GB of DDR4-3600 memory. I was considering an RTX 5060 Ti, preferably the 16GB model, but I'm open to better-value options. What GPU would be a worthwhile upgrade without getting excessively expensive?

The best choice depends heavily on your monitor resolution, target frame rate, country, and budget. At 1080p, your 3800X may hold back newer high-end cards in some CPU-heavy games, while 1440p makes a stronger GPU upgrade more worthwhile. Also check your power supply before choosing a card.
If your budget allows, a 9070 or 9070 XT would be a much larger upgrade, although the Ryzen 7 3800X could limit performance in CPU-heavy games. For a balanced AM4 upgrade, a Ryzen 7 5800X3D—or another compatible X3D processor—paired with a 9060 XT or 9070 XT would extend the life of the system considerably. Check motherboard BIOS support before buying the CPU.
The 5060 Ti 16GB could work and would be a noticeable jump from the RX 5700 XT, but its current pricing makes it less appealing. A 9060 XT 16GB is worth comparing if it’s cheaper in your area. Make sure you get the 16GB version for better longevity, especially at 1440p.
You don’t necessarily need a whole new build yet. Keeping the motherboard, upgrading the GPU, and eventually moving to a faster AM4 processor is likely to offer better value than replacing everything at once. A new AM5 build makes more sense if you want a major platform upgrade and have roughly $1,500 or more available.
