What monitor should I get for work and occasional gaming around €200?

I'm looking for a monitor mainly for work, with some gaming on the side, including Rainbow Six Siege and single-player games. With so many panel types, resolutions, refresh rates, and other specifications available, I'm not sure which features matter most. Ideally, I'd like vibrant colors and good ergonomics while staying close to a €200 budget, though I could spend a little more if the upgrade is worthwhile. My laptop is an ASUS ROG Strix G15 with a GeForce RTX 3050 Ti and AMD Ryzen 7 4800H. I've been considering models such as the KTC H27T6 and MSI MAG 275QF E20, but I'm open to other suggestions and advice on whether IPS would be a good fit.

At around €200, IPS is probably the best choice for your needs. It generally offers better color and viewing angles than TN, while being much more affordable than OLED. Look for a 27-inch 1440p monitor with at least 100–165 Hz, adaptive sync, and a stand with height adjustment if possible. OLED has excellent contrast and colors, but it is usually far beyond this budget.

That makes sense. I’m not specifically looking for OLED, so a decent IPS model sounds more realistic. I may also stretch the budget slightly if it gets me better ergonomics.

If you can raise the budget to roughly €250, a 1440p high-refresh mini-LED monitor could be a strong option for mixed productivity and gaming. It may offer better contrast and HDR than a standard IPS display. Otherwise, a good 1440p IPS monitor is likely the safer value choice at €200. Ultrawide models are another option, but they often cost more; a 34-inch curved AOC model around €270 can be appealing if you want extra desktop space.

The KTC H27T6 and MSI MAG 275QF E20 look like the kind of monitors worth comparing: both are in the affordable 27-inch 1440p IPS category and should work well for office use and occasional gaming. Check reviews for motion handling, brightness, backlight bleed, and whether the stand has the adjustments you need. Your RTX 3050 Ti may not run every demanding game at high settings in 1440p, but you can lower settings or use upscaling while still benefiting from the sharper resolution for work.
