I've already built this gaming PC and have all the parts from my current parts list. I'm looking to upgrade the CPU and/or GPU for a noticeable performance boost without paying far beyond the point of diminishing returns. I play a mix of games, including indie titles such as The Isle, single-player games like Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, and competitive shooters such as CS:GO and Destiny 2. I'm happy to spend a reasonable amount, but I'm mainly interested in the best value and FPS-per-pound upgrade. I'd also appreciate any advice about component compatibility, since the system uses a Mini-ITX motherboard in a Micro-ATX case.

The most worthwhile upgrade depends on the exact CPU, GPU, resolution, refresh rate, and games you play. Since the system is already assembled, compare your current frame rates and usage: if the GPU is close to 100% usage, prioritize a graphics card upgrade; if the GPU is underused while the CPU is maxed out, a faster processor may help more. Also confirm the power supply, case clearance, and cooling before buying anything.
Before choosing an upgrade, double-check the physical compatibility of the current setup. A Mini-ITX motherboard in a Micro-ATX case is generally fine, but make sure the graphics card and CPU cooler fit properly and that the case has suitable airflow. A larger Micro-ATX board could offer more expansion options, but it isn’t automatically better if you only need the Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and slots your current board already provides.
