You’ll still need to design the workflows, retention, authentication, monitoring, and audit process carefully, especially for protected healthcare data.
Before choosing a product, document the actual requirements: transfer protocols, internal versus external destinations, encryption, authentication, file retention, retries, alerting, acknowledgements, audit logs, and recovery procedures. In healthcare, replacing unreliable scripts with another tool isn’t enough if the new process still can’t prove what was sent, when it was sent, and whether the recipient received it.
