I recently bought an RTX 3060 Ti and currently have an Intel Core i3-9100F with four cores. I'm concerned that the CPU will bottleneck the graphics card and want a more capable, budget-friendly processor without replacing my Gigabyte Z390 D motherboard. Which compatible CPU would make the most sense?

The strongest drop-in option is the Core i9-9900K, but it’s only worth considering if you find one at a good used price. The i7-9700K or i7-9700 can also be solid upgrades, though older LGA1151 chips often cost more than their performance justifies.
Look at used prices for an i5-9600K, i7-8700K, or i7-9700. The Z390 D supports 8th- and 9th-generation Intel desktop CPUs, but check the board’s BIOS support and make sure the price is reasonable. A used i5-8400 is a very cheap option, although it’s more of a modest upgrade than a long-term solution.
Before upgrading, clarify what “can’t handle” means. An i3-9100F may limit the 3060 Ti in CPU-heavy games or at high frame rates, but the GPU should still work. If the older CPUs are expensive locally, replacing the board and CPU with a newer platform—such as a Ryzen 5 5500 system or an LGA1700 DDR4 setup with a Core i5-12600K—will usually provide much better value.
